.Carver Band Rates

Excellent At Festival

The band of George Wellington G»rver High School under die direction of Mr. C. W. Payrte, received an excellent rating at the Northern Region Music Festival at Luther P. Jackson High School in Merrifield, Va.

Eight Carver Band Member* who auditioned for the All-State Band were accepted into die band. They will play in the All-State Band festival at Virginia State College on April 7, 1959, with Dr. A. G. Wright of Perdue University as guest conductor. 6 ' The Carver Members of the All State Band are: Edward Gordon, tenor saxaphone; Clifton Talifero, tenor saxaphone; Anthony Wright ■ trumpet; Randolph Howard, first F horn; Joseph Williams, ifirst ' trombone; Herbert Shanks, 'second trombone Charles Ferguson, bass horn; John Hunter, snare drum.

Mrs. Bulett will be the guest speaker at Macedonia Baptist Church Sunday, April 12 at J p,m. School and Senior Choir. Sponsored by Sister Mary Jordon. 0 The Washington Graded School P.T.A. will meet Friday night April 10 at 7:30 p.m. All parents are urged to attend. The Washington Graded School P.TA will sponsor a dinher Sunday, April 19 from 12 noon until 5*30 p.m. Public is invited. Dinners 75c in—$1.00 out.

There will be a social at h^rs. - Roberta Williams on Saturday, April 11 from 8 pm. until? Benefit of Remodeling fund. Refreshments will be on sale. Everyone invited.
