The Sanitarian, besides 55 inspection visits to the 18 restaurants in the county made 193 other sanitation visits, of which, 82 were regarding sewage disposal sanitation. Although this county does not yet have a septic tank ordinance, we find that most of the reputable contractors are now requesting health department permits and inspection for their own protection. The big sewage disposal plan done this year was foi the new high school. Motels, hotels and tourist homes are inspected by a Tourist Establishment Sanitarian who also works other counties.
The local health department is now in charge of all the birth and death registrations for the county. This eliminates district registrars and makes for more uniform reporting.
