Friday, September L at 5:15 a. ni. on Route 211 6 miles east of sedan driven by Charlotte VSrWashington, Va. a 1953 Pontiac ginia Sheaves of Lardisburg, W. Va. ran off the highway and struck a tree when the driver fell asleep She was admitted to Fauquier Hospital with face and head injuries. Damage to the car was estimated at approximately $600.
No personal injury resulted on Labor Day when Elizabeth B. Thomas of Silver Spring, Md. lost control of the 1956 Chevrolet seddan she was driving and hit a bank after applying the brakes to avoid striking Jesse Junior Wharton of Castleton, who pulled into the left lane to make a right turn into a driveway in Amissville. $300 damage was done to the Thomas car.
On the same day, at 3:10 p.m. a 1953 Chevrolet sedan driven by Edward Franklin Frazier of Huntly and owned by Edward H. Atkins, Sperryville ran into the rear of a 54 Ford sedan owned and operated by Campbell D. Keyser of Arlington when the Keyser car stopped to make a turn. Damage was estimated at $400 - $500. No injury resulted.
To date this year there has been only one traffic fatality on Rappahannock roads.
