Mrs. Mary U. Cleverley of near Flint Hill and Washington, D. C. was sworn in as Assistant Commissioner of Housing for the Elderly Public Housing Administration at a ceremony at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington, D. C. at 2 p.m. Monday afternoon, Septerber 19.
Here to witness the ceremony were Mrs. Cleverley’s daughter, Mrs. W. A. McConchie, Mr. Me Conchie and their two sons of Elk Forest Village, 111.
Mrs. Cleverley will work with Bruce Savage, Commissioner in the Housing Administration. She has been employed in the same agency for about a year and has traveled extensively over the United States to advise civic groups and local government agencies working on housing for the elderly.
Mrs. Cleverley also visited a number of cities'1 in Europe this summer, where she observed facilities for housing for this age gr<jup.
