Fund Report
The American Cancer Society in Virginia received contribution totaling $527,972 for the yearly period ending August 31, it has been announced by Richard S. Gillis of Ashland, State Crusade Chairman. “This is the largest amount of money ever received by the Cancer Society in Virginia in a single year and we are delighted with the results,” Mr. Gillis said. “We are grateful to the people of Virginia for their geperous support,” he continued.
Mr. Gillis explained that additional receipts applying to the 1960 Crusade were anticipated since a number of the Society’s local units had not submitted their final reports. The goal for 1960 was $525,000.
