Entered In Contest
A 21 inch, 4 pound 7 ounce bass caught by Clyde Burkhart of Front Royal, Saturday, September 10 in the South Fork of the Shenandoah River is to date the largest fish entered in the contest sponsored by Bill’s Sporting Goods Store in Front Royal, according to Mr. Coffman, the proprietor.
The fish, caught with a jitterbug, was one inch longer and one ounce heavier than a bass entered in the contest by Morgan Johnston of Washington, Va.
Fall Dances Begin At
Flint Hill Fire Hall
The Flint Hill Firemen will begin their series of fall and winter square dances at the fire hall every other Friday night, with the opening dance scheduled for tSs Friday. September 2d.
Music by Bill Baily and the Rhythm Ramblers will be featured at the first dance which begins at 9 p.m. and lasts until 1. Admission is ?1.00 per person.
