Carnival Opens
August 2nd
Flint Hill Eiremen will open a four-night carnival Wednesday, August 2 with a free display of fireworks. Other attractions have been planned for each of the next three nights.
On Thursday there will be a grand parade with more than 100 entries, including bands, drum and bugle corps, marching units, majorette groups, floats, beauty queens and fire fighting equipment. The parade which starts at 6:30 p.m. EST, will be led by the Official USAF Drum & Bugle Corps from Bolling Air Force Base in Washington, D. C. and the USAF Bagpipe Band.
Miss Linda Harper, who holds the “Miss Warren County Fair” title and Miss Dianne Rudy, holder of the “Miss Warren County” title will be seen in the parade.
The Ladies Auxiliary will have plate suppers on sale at the fire hall immediately following the^iarade on Thursday night. j
Friday night will be high-lighted by the crowning of the queen who will be chosen from a group of six girls competing for the title.
The carnival will be brought to a climax oh Saturday night with the awarding of prizes.
There will be plenty of food, and games of all kinds on the midway which will include a ferris wheel, a merry-go-round, roller coaster, giant swing and several kiddie rides.
