If a farmer does not treat his alfalfa stands this fall, he can spray his fields next spring with either methoxychlor or malathion. He should not use heptachlor in any form after October 15 this fall. The County Agent has information about spray applications. He can also recommend steps to follow in seeding new stands of alfalfa this fall. In most areas, new stands should be protected against weevil damage_
