District ASC Meeting
Held In Culpeper
A district Meeting to explain the 1962 feed grain program Was Culpeper National Bank, Culpeper, Virginia, H. S. Barksdale, Chairman of the Rappahannock ASGS Comipittee has announced. Attending this meeting were the county office managers, ASC county committeemen, and county agents from Culpeper, Fairfax, Fauquier, Loudoun, Madison, Orange, Prince William, Rappahannock, Spotsylvania and Stafford.
The purpose of the meeting was to explain the provisions of the 1962 feed grain program under which farmers will receive payments for diverting acreages from corn and grain sorghums this year and putting the diverted land to conservation use. Based on instructions received in this meeting, ASC county committeemen will hold county meetings at a later date, in which ASC community committeemen and others will be advised about the program and how to proceed with enrolling farmers in the feed grain program.
Similar district meetings are now being held in other areas of Virginia.
