Mr. William C. Vernam. Forster for the Virginia Division of Forestry, reports that 40,000 forest seedlings will be delivered to 8 .landowners in Rappahannock county during the months of February and March to reforest cutover timberland and abandoned land. Landowners receiving trees are Wade H. Massie, Jr., Donald E. Read, Bradley H. Patterson, General Daniel Noce, Mrs. L. G. Noyes, Samuel J. Dennis, Eric: B. Foster, and Chief Forest Warden Raymond M. Johnson. Species to be planted in the county include white pine, yellow poplar, loblolly pine and shortleaf pine.
Trees are«still available from the Virginia Division of Forestry for spring planting at a cost of $4.50 to $8.50 per thousand trees delivered to the landowner. Mr. Vernam suggests that landowners ask themselves the following questions:
