Gordon Payne, Jr.
Hiram Gordon Payne, Jr. of ! Madison, Va. died Saturday night, I March 3rd at his home after a long period of poor health.
Mr. Payne, a native of Madison, was horn in 1909, the son of Hirman Gordon Payne amd Katherine Marshall Payne. He was employed by the Madison Electric Company. i
Mr. Payne was at member and Senior Warden of thie Piedmont Episcopal Church in Madison.
He is survived by his. wife, the former Lucille Johnson, of the home address; a son, Joseph Goddon Payne; two sisters, Mrs. Clayton Wynham, Sr. of Madison and Mrs. George A. Cook, Kensington, Md.; one brother, George R. Payne of Fairfax.
A funeral service was held from the Piedmont Episcopal Church at 11 a.m. Monday, March 5 with the Rev. Douglas Pitt officiating. Interment was in Cedar IHill Cemetery, Madison.
Pallbearers were Norman Carpenter, Royce Payne, Billy Payne, Clayton Wynham, Jr., Marshall Wynham, Mike Lohr, Maupin Weaver and I^unter Weaver.
