Elected Mayor

The ladies still have the upper hand in Washington, Va. Mrs. Dorothy C. Davis was> elected to the office of Mayor in the election held Tuesday. On the write-in ballot, she polled 33 votes. Mre. Davis was Mayor of the town in 1950 when the firsr all-woman slate of officers was elected. Mrs. Martha Critzer, outgoing Mayor, called her and congratulated her on being elected. Mrs. Critzer did not seek re-election.

Mrs. Davis said,“ I appreciate all the many expressions of good wishes and confidence that have been tendered since the write-in election on Tuesday, and wish to take this opportunity to thank each of you.
