The Amissville Ruritan Club will celebrate its first anniversary Saturday,6 Sepfc. 29 with an afternoon of events including a majorette contest, games, rides, entertainment and prizes, climaxed with an open pit barbecue. The celebration, which begins at 1:00 p.m., will be held on the carnival grounds at Amissville on U.S. Rte. 211.
Eddie Matherly, radio personality of Station WKCW, Warrenton and the Country Kings Band will entertain.
A Majorette Contest, beginning at 3 p.m. will offer first, second and third place prizes of $25, $15 and $10 respectively, for majorette groups. In solo competition a $10 first and $5 second prize will be given.
