Lucy Catherine Bowie, a co-owner of the Afetwj when it was founded in 1949, it employed there. Jack Barber, compositor and floor man, ^rho worked in Rappahannock with the Bowies, now works at the Orange Review. Jack has also aided us regularly here on Tuesday nights for some time. ?
In addition, many times last year during the rush of Christmas when we were short handed, Angus Green came to my rescue and helped me with the paper with only thanks for pay. Likewise, Tex (Dallas) Smithson and Carl Schumacher, both employed at the Review have helped out here. William Webb, a former employee of Rappahannock News, is a linotype operator there.
So you see, our paper is being given plenty of TLC in Orange.

Time to take to the hills .\f the weather is beautiful with that fresh fall crispness; the leaves are beginning to color; apples and cider are abundant Yes, you all come on to Rappahannock and we’ll share its beauty with you. Even apple blossoms are out again here. Tuesday Mrs. John Updike brought us a branch from a black twig apple tree that was in full bloom.
