Rapp’k. Hunt Opens
At‘Stonehaven’, October 27
The Rappahannock Hunt opens the 1962-63 fox-hunting season with their first meet carded at “Stonehaven,” 10:00 a,m., October 27. Hounds will be cast onto Fielding Mountain, near Woodville.
“Stonehaven,” the delightful house of Mr. and Mrs. George E. Muth, has been the scene of the Rappahannock Hunt’s Opening Meet for the past seven years. It provides a gay setting with its stirrup-cup table flying both the Star-Spangled Banner and the Confederate Flag against the reds and gold of the mountain foliage.
After the hunt, Mr. and Mrs. Muth will give a Hunt Breakfast to the entire Rappahannock Hunt Membership.
Sue Slaughter Group To Meet
The Fall meeting of the Sue Slaughter Group of Shiloh Association will meet on Thursday, October 18th at 7 P.M. in Forest Grove Baptist Church.
Gifts To Be Presented
Sperryville Church
On next Sunday morning, at the 10 o’clock worship service, Mr. Harry L. Barker, Jr., president of the Barker Construction Co., Inc., of Richmond, will present to the Reynolds Memorial Baptist Church a Brass Chancel Cross and brass Offering Plates.
The gifts, which are to be placed on the Communion Table, are being presented in honor of the present minister of the church who served as Mr. Barker’s pastor before coming to the local church.
A new Communion Table Runner of Liturgical Red is being placed on the table by Mrs. P. L. Thornton.
