Mrs. Morgan Johnston is back at school after a short illness. Miss Margaret Compton has returned to her home from the Winchester Hospital. Charlie. Jenkins still has a cast on his arm, but it’s much better.
These last few days before the Trinity Church House Tour is driving everyone mad. Lois Snead is busy getting hostesses for the houses, Ruth Keyser and I have our tea all lined up. Mattie Ball Fletcher is busy getting the Country Store in order. By the way, there will be some wonderful things for Christmas gifts at the Store—home made things are so good and people away from home always seem to enjoy them so much. Don’t forget the dates—October 20-21st, one to five.
Never knew it was so much fun being a grandma. Only wish grandchild was a little nearer to us, but they’ll be home Thanksgiving. And what fun we are going to have. Stew and Evie had dinner with Bob and Dolly Settle Petersen at West Point Saturday. Said they had a wonderful time.
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Rees brought me two beautiful South Sea roses this morning. They are one of the largest roses grown. If you have never visited the Rees Garden, you should —and I can guarantee you a warm welcome.
