Local Hiking Club
Begins Season Oct. 28
The Rappahannock Hiking Club will have its maiden hike of the Fall season on 'Sunday, Oct. 28th from from the Pinnacles to Mary’s Rock on the Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park.
There is no membership involved in joining this activity except a willingness to walk, stout hiking shoes, and a love of the outdoors.
According to Raymond Johnson, Chief Forest Warden of Rappahannock County, who will lead the hike, the view on the 3-mile hike along the crest of the Blue Ridge is belond comparison and the grade is steady with no difficult climb.
Hikers will gather at * the Sperryville Elementary School at 1:30 p.m. and in addition to their comfortable walking shoes and clothing suitable for the weather, they should have a sandwich and a canteen of water.
2nd Special Service
At Reynolds Church
The second in the fall series of special services at Reynolds Memorial Baptist Church is scheduled for next Sunday evening at 7:30.
Under the direction of Mrs. J. Beverly Perkins, the youth of the church will have charge of the program. Miss Doris Ann Dodson will serve as organist for the service and Donald Gore will preside.
Others participating in the service will be Betty Kay Kilby, Janice Dodson, "Tish” Kilby, “Pat” Brown, Laura Fleming Melton, Eddie Gore, Patrick Alther, C. H. Brown, and “Buddy” Brown.
A film dealing with Communism
will be shown. J
Following the worship service the young people will be host at a social hour in the social hall in the basement of the church.
