Record Tourists See Shenandoah Colors
A record number of tourists visited the Shenandoah National Park Saturday and Sunday.
Chief Ranger Joseph Kulesza said 67,661 persons in 22,881 automobiles drove over the Skyline drive to see the trees in f^ll autumn colors.
Among those visiting the park yesterday was Senator Byrd, Democrat of Virginia, who spent the day at Mary’s Rock. Byrd’s Nest No. 3, a mountaintop shelter, is under-construction there.
