Pony Club Organizes
As 4-H Activity
Rappahannock Light Horse & Pony Club held its first meeting November 19 at the courthouse in Washington with about 20 members and parents present. Rules were approved and some plans made. Officers elected were: president, John Powers; vice president, Tish Kilby; western secretary, Beth O’Bannon; reporter, Mark Harris.
Anyone who has had their ninth birthday, owns or has access to a horse or pony, and is willing to take care of it, may join this club. It is not necessary that a member belong to any other. 4-H group.
The next meeting will be December 19, at 7:30 in the courthouse. Anyone interested is invited to attend. Plans include English riding lessons, given by Mrs. Joyce DeBergh and Western. lessons given by Brook' Mims. —Mark Harris
Combined Church Supper
Draws Large Crowd
The old fashioned supper served by ladies of the Methodist and Baptist churches of Flint Hill on Saturday night at the Firehouse was an outstanding success. About 250 people attended with two gentlemen coming from Winchester especially to partake of the famous Flint Hill cooking. This yean the Chairmen for this joint annual affair were Mrs. Maxine Cary and Mrs. Mabel Lillard for Methodist Church and Mrs. Mary M. Krause and Mrs. Joel Jenkins for the Baptist Church.
The menu featured fried chicken and pork steaks, served buffet style, topped eff with three kinds of pie.
