Ever ao often I owe it to the. citizens of the county to make a report on County Agent activities, Haven’t done this for some time so here are the high spots of last week.

The “kick-off” happened Sunday night by a call from Mr. Owen Boyd of New York, who attended our Angus calf sale. He wanted help in locating feeder steer calves., needed 150 or more. Would I call back Tuesday night to report what our producers might have?

Since helping farmers in their marketing problems is one of multiple responsibilities, time not previously scheduled was spent Monday and Tuesday calling cattlemen. Found around 60 head. Boyd indicated he would come to the county Tuesday of this week.

Mondv afternoon spent going over Echo Hill farm in an effort to help Mrs. Ward plan her annual program. Monday night was first aid class.

After Tuesdays broadcast was with Thomas Taylor and men on apple tree pruning. Had that night at home: the phone rang and rang; cattlemen calling. Had a lot to do my self. Imagine party line sharers got sore as calls were either coming in or going out from intervals for at least two out of three hours.

Wednesday was final day for Bangs vaccination of heifers . , 82 farms and 153 head. Owners all ready except my gas man, Gibson Wharton, so we kept on schedule 1

Light Horse and Ponv Hub organized that night, 12 members starting. Really appreciated help Joyce DeBergh, Jack Bruce and Brooks Mims have volunteered. Parents coopreating too.

Thursday morning was with Jimmy Burke discussing land use possibilities of his acreage., needs as revealed bv soil test, etc. Jimmy and I also went over the Ward land near Flint Hill.

Rnppahnnock Senior 4-H boys met that afternoon. Soils Unit II is the project these 23 fine young men are studying. Discussed physical factors that limit soil useage.
