The busiest phone in Warren County these days is the line to "Santa Claus” at the North Pole.
The Virginia Telephone and Telegraph Company has completed installation of the circuit, installed annually for the J. J- Newberry Company in Front Royal. The telephone number is ME 5-8955.
Harry Cole, telephone company manager , asked parents yesterday to make sure their children are dialing the correct number, MElrose 5-8955, to prevent making unnecessary calls to other patrons, who may have similar digits.
In past years, as many as from 32,000 to 34,000 calls have been made to Santa Claus between Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Eve.
