Flags flying and lights blazing with music playing on the hill between the Lake Motel and the Old Mill Snack Bar heralded the opening of the Washington Vol. Firemen's Carnival on Wednesday night. Final preparation had continued right up to the time of opening with grass blowing and other refinements for the comfort and convenience of carnival goers. On Thursday the 27th Fredericksburg Rescue Squad will give a life saving demonstration furnishing all the necessary equipment and actors to show the things involved in this operation.They also will show methods of removing victims from wrecked automobiles. On .hand to demonstrate modern fire fighting equipment will be John Bean of Winchester with pit fires, foamandfury. At 9 p.m. the Jaguars of Warrenton will be on hand with their popular 5 piece Rock and Roll Combo to stage a Hootenanny. Congressman John O. Marsh, Jr. will lead the Grand Feature Parade on Friday night 28th starting promptly at 7:00 p.m. It will form at the Elementary School and proceed up Mount Salem Avenue with a right turn on Gay Street and then along Lee Highway to
