Contest Set in Warrenton The rustic wooded amphitheatre around Lake Whippoorwill, just off Routes 29211 east of Warrenton, will resound to the rhythms of country qnd western music August 3rd and 4th when the Warrenton Jaycees stage their 13th annual National Championship Country Music Contest. The Jaycees are spending evenings and weekends sprucing up the lakeside grounds in preparation On Saturday night there will be a ‘Hootananny” as added entertainment. Also on hand during the festival will be “Skeeter” Davis whose record of ‘I’m Saving My Love” and “ End of the World” is well known to Country Music Lovers everywhere. Other well known names that are to be present are Eddie Matherly and Clyde Moody. The contest starts at 7:00 p.m. Saturday, August 3rd and 1;00 p.m. Sunday, August 4th at Lake Whippoorwill on Route 605 just off highway 20-211 outside Warrenton.
