Mrs. John A. Keyser has contracted to sell her beautiful 157 acre mountainfarm in Harris Hollow near Washington to Mr. and Mrs.Robert E. Durand of Manassas. Mrs. Keyser, long a resident of Rappahannock County,plans to return this fall to her native Texas, it was learned this week. Mr. Durand is an architect. The Durands have four children, who will attend Rappahannock County Schools when the family moves here. The eldest child, Christine age 14 has been a student in Paris while living therewith relatives. The other children are Robert, Jr., 12, called Robin, Michele, age 9 and Colette, 6. The sale was negotiated by Edward A. Harris & Associates, Huntly. In other real estate transactions announced this week by Mr. Harris, Mr. and Mrs. William E. Pullen of Baltimore and Flint Hill bought the 70-acre peach and apple orchard owned by the Rev. Norman Francis Hunt of Norfolk, and Dr. and Mrs. William L. Wake of Harrisonburg, former residents of Rappahannock, contracted to buy the 56-acre farm of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kinsey of Ben Venue. The Pullens plan to raze the orchards in order to convert the land into pasture and hay for their cattle.The Hunt farm adjoins their present farm, the old Willis Dearing property which they bought several years ago. Remodeling of the main house and guest house is nearly completed. Mr.Pullen, president of the United States Fidelity and Guaranty Co., plans to retire in about two years. Dr. Wake, a veterinarian, is presently employed in the Disease Eradication section of the Department of Agriculture.
