Dicks reported a single vehicle wreck which occurred on Saturday at the Redivia bridge on Rt. 211 between Washington and Sperryville. James Rankins driving a 58 Ford pulled onto the highway from the Gid Brown Hollow road, swerved and struck the left side of the b r 1 d g e. « The car careened across the road then back to the left and went down the bank. Rankins was not injured. He was charged with reckless driving. The vehicle owned by Mildred Turner of Huntly, was a total loss.

At Enforcement Meet
Sheriff Charles K. Estes and Trooper Paul Dicks attended the Law Enforcement Officers Meeting held Friday in Quantico. Over three hundred officers from 92 police agencies in the United States attended the meeting which is sponsored each year by the Quantico Marine Corps Provost Marshal’s Office. Demonstrations were given on techniques and personal defense tactics and firing range demonstrations were given. In the evening a buffet dinner was served. Mr. Quinn Tamm, Executive Director of the International Association of Chief Police, who is a retired agent of the FBI, spoke to the group.
