After 42 years of teaching readin’, ritin’ and ’rithmetic, Mrs. Ethel G. Ramey of Slate - Mills will retire at the close * of this school session. She has taught all but one year of this period in the primary grades of Rappahannock County schools. Mrs. Ramey is the former Ethel Golden, a native of Wood* ville. She married Cleveland M. Ramey in 1933 and they live on a farm at Slate Mills. She began her teaching career September 1922 in “Round Hill School" near Boston where she had all seven grades in one room. She remained here for two years, then the following year she taught at Riverton in Warren County. The next session found her in Rappahannock at the tworoom Belle Meade School in the F. T.
