Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Johnson, Mrs. J. H. Johnson and Miss Mattie Rector were Sunday guests of Miss Lillie and Miss Nellie Johnson. Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Butler and son Billy and Mrs. Charles Burke spent the week-end in Jacksonville, N. C. with Mr. and Mrs. Bill Marr. Mrs. Annie Fincham returned home with Mrs. Burke for a visit. Mrs. W. B. Carter of Front Royal was a Sunday dinner guest of Mr. and Mrs. George Johnston. . W. B. Johnson of Greenville, S. C. spent several days with relatives here last week. Mrs. H. B. Wood, Mrs. R. G. Quaintance, Mrs. Virginia Rosenburg and Mrs. J, H. Filling visited Miss Arizona Elkins Sunday at the Aroda Nursing Home in Madison.

Fort Riley, Kan. (AHTNC) --Army Pvt. Edwin A. Estes, 22, son of Mr. arid Mrs. E.C. Estes, Castleton, Va., was assigned to the 1st Infantry Di|
vision at Fort Riley, Kan., for training as a truck driven April 28. Estes entered the Army last January, completed basic training at Fort Gordon, Ga., and is a member of Company A of the division’s 1st Supply and Transport Battalion.
