apple juice are so readily available to us, you may like to try this old fashion recipe for steamed pudding for your Thanksgiving Dinner.

f' € -V Steamed Cider Pudding 2 eggs 1/4 cup sugar 1/4 cup melted shortening 1 cup molasses 3 cups sifted all purpose flour 1 teaspoon cinnampn 1 teaspoon nutmeg 3/4 teaspoon salt 1 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1 cup boiling apple juice 1 cup seedless raisins ? 1 cup currants

Beat eggs, add sugar gradual ly. Add melted shortening and molassas; mix well. Sift to* gether flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt and baking soda. Add to egg mixture. Add boiling apple juice; mix well. Add raisins and currants. Pour into greased 9 cup mold. Cover tightly, Steam 2 hours. Unmold and serve hot with sauce. Makes 12 servings.

Fluffy Apple Juice Sauce 1/2 cup butter or margarine 1 cup sifted confectioners BUgar 1 egg, beaten ^ ' 1 cup apple juice Cream together butter or margarine and sugar. Add eggs and apple Juice. Place in double boiler over hot water, beating occasionally with rotary beater until fluffy and slightly thickened. Serve hot. Makes 2 cups.

The Flint Hill Horse and Pony club will hold their November meeting on the 25th at 7;00 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Paul Miller. A lamp shade workshop for the Amissville home demonstration club will be held on Nov. 30th at the fire hall at 7:30 p.m. The members should prepare their shade frames ahead of time, and bring all the necessary materials to the meeting. The Amissville sewingclass is scheduled to meet with Mrs. F. L. Bowey at 10;00 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 1st. The Sperryville home demon stration club will meet on Dec 3rd. with Mrs. Paul Nichols at 8;00 p.m. in Flint Hill. The program will be a demonstra tion on making fabric lamp shades. Members who plan to make shades at the meeting should prepare theii* shade frames before the meeting, and have the necessary materials with them. ’ 7,1*
