Next Monday night at 8:00 p.m. a number of people will gather at the Court House for the expressed purpose of form ing a county Historical Society. The success or failure of this worthy project will not depend on the number of people attending, but rather on the spirit of cooperation by all our people in searching out and preserving our heritage. This is a project which will test the memory, and will require the help of hundreds of people over the next several years. The noted Virginia historian Mr. David A. Williams, professor of history at the Uni versity of Virginia, will be the principal speaker at the founding meeting Mr. Williams received his doctorate from Northwestern, taught at Queens College, and has been at the U. of Va. for 7 years. He is working on a new book on the 18th century Virginia. Well quali fied and a dynamic speaker, Mr. Williams will no doubt point us in the right direct ion on this important historic project. Therewill be no charge.
