Construction and repair of county buildings, pupil placement, fire school and road safety measures were among subjects discussed and acted upon at the August meeting of the Rappahannock Board of Supervisors Friday, August 6. All members of the Board were present for the meeting held at 10 a.m. in the courthouse at Washington. W. C. Campbell of Washington recommended to the Board that sufficient money from the funds for upkeep and building be appropriated to repair the old frame building at the jail which was formerly used as a kitchen. He volunteered to assist in supervising this work with Board Chairman, J. Newbill Miller. This was approved by the Board. W. H. Lyne, County Agent, was present to report that he had been successful in securing a sum of money to be used to make an addition to the Moffett Building in which the hxtension offices are located.
