Mr. and Mrs. Charles Burrell Wood of Blacksburg announce the engagement of their daughter, Ruth Stevens, to Stephen Thomas Hardiman, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Stephen Hardiman of Huntington Station, Long Island, New York. The bride-elect is a sophomore in the College of Home Economics at Virginia Polytechnic Institute. Mr. Hardiman is a graduate student and instructor in mathematics, College of Arts and Sciences, at the same university. A December wedding is planned.
