OBITUARIES

Mrs. Bessie Pullen

Mrs. Bessie Virginia Pullen, 71, of Sperryville, widow of Jonas Pullen, died Tuesday, August 3, 1965, at University of Virginia Hospital. Daughter of the late William Jackson Rutherford and the late Eleanor Frazier Rutherford, she was a native of Rappahannock County. She is survived by four brothers, Charles Rutherford of Sperryville, Harry Rutherford of Warrenton, Haywood Rutherford of Castleton and Archie Rutherford of Culpeper; four sisters, Mrs. Georgie Pullen of Warrenton, Mrs. Mittie Frye, Mrs. Susie Frye and Mrs. Ella Mae Atkins, all of Sperryville; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A graveside funeral service was held Friday, August 6, at Sperryville Cemetery, Elder Wayne Richards officiating. Pallbearers were Roy B. Leake, Charles Leake, Edward Estes, Alvin Atkins, Cecil Atkins and Elmer S. Atkins. Arrangements were handled by Geest Funeral Parlors.
