■ Perfect weather, combined with lots of planning and hard work enabled the Flint Hill Fire Department to complete a successful four night carnival last week. The firemen report a total gross of over S18,000. On Thursday night an enthusiastic crowd packed the parade route to view the 175 units which included fire and rescue and squad equipment, floats, bands, marching units and majorettes. The award winners of the parade were as follows: Best appearing fire company, town over 500 population - First, Vienna; Second, Dunn Poring. Best appearing fire company under 500 population - First, Chantilly; Second, Madison. Fire company coming longest distance - Clinton, Maryland. Best appearing ambulance - Chantilly. Best appearing rescue truck - Fredericksburg. Rescue squad coming longest distance - Fredericksburg. Best appearing ladies auxiliary - Amissville. Best a p p e a r i n g honorary fire chief - Amissville.
