John Joseph Johnston, 80, of 406 N. East Street, Culpeper, died Monday, August 9, 1965, at his residence. A native of Rappahannock County and a former resident of Boston, he was the son of the late John William Johnston and the late Dora Virginia Hawkins Johnston. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Della Hisle Johnston; one son, Joseph Jackson Johnston of Boston; two daughters, Mrs. Russell Deane and Mrs. Garnett Pierce, both of Boston; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild; two brothers, Walter Johnston of Brightwood and George Johnston of Boston. A funeral service was held Wednesday, August 11, at the graveside in Fairview Cemetery, Culpeper, the Rev. Floyd Binns officiating. Pallbearers were G. William Mitchell, Edmund B u r k e, C. W. Corder, Leroy Johnston, Junior Johnston, William Johnston, Ashby Thornhill and Lee Payne. Arrangements were handled by Geest Funeral Parlors.
