In 3 Minor Accidents
Early Friday morning an auto struck a cow a half mile east of Washington on Route 211. Floyd William Finks of Syria, driving a 65 Chevrolet station wagon struck a cow owned by Raymond Sours of Luray which was pastured on the farm of George H. Davis, Jr. The driver was not injured, but the cow succumbed. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $150, according to Trooper W. A. Buntin.
A minor two-car collision occurred in front of the Corner Store in Sperryville on Saturday the 11th. at 10;45 a.m. William Franklin Stinespring of Durham, N. C. opera ting a 63 Rambler was struck by a 65 Ford station wagon driven by Ralph Irwin Myers of Stephens City. According to Trooper Buntin, Myers overshot the curve and clipped the front fender of the Stinespring vehicle. Myers was charged with failing to yield the right of way.
George H. Davis III of Washington was involved in a single car collision Monday evening. The vehicle he was driving was a ’63 Corvair owned by George Dennis Vaughn of Richmond. Mr. Davis lost control of the vehicle and struck a bank just east of the Town of Washington /on Route 211, according to Trooper Buntin. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $350.
