The SCA held its first meeting

The SCA held its first meeting Tuesday with President Page Moffett in charge. Other officers are: vice president, Joan Lee; Secretary, Jeanne Woodard; Treasurer, Janet Hack ley; Reporter, Martha Shillingburg; Homeroom Representatives are: 12 - Larry Hackley; 11 - Brenda Welch; 10 - BeveHy Beahm and Nancy Thornhill; 9 - Beth O’Bannon and Rosalie Settle; 8 - Wanda Silvey, Betty Jenkins and Eddie C order. Page outlined plans for the coming year which include our annual magazine campaign, White Christmas program, Valentine party,: Teacher Appreciation Day and several other projects. Miss Zinn, SCA sponsor briefedthe officers and representatives on their duties. Page then appointed several committee chairmen: program committee, Becky Rector; Finance committee, Janet Hackley; Publicity committee, Martha Shillingburg; citizenship committee, Beth O'Bannon; Safety and Grounds committee, Billy Hayes. The cheerleaders, under the sponsorship of Mrs. Marshal, have begun practice for the coming season. This year’s cheerleaders, Carolyn Johnston, Martha Shillingburg, Joan Lee, Anne Cannon, Stephanie Aylor and Carty Moffett are hard at work learning many new yells and songs. Tuesday evening the faculty was honored at a dinner given at Hampton Inn. In charge of entertainment was Mrs. Matilda Walker. Seniors are still waiting patiently (?) for their rings which will be given out next week when the representative from the Balfour Ring Company will be at RCHS to make any adjustments, etc. that may be necessary. ???Mysterious people??? • ???? is a tall dark-haired senior. ???? is “musically inclined" and can usually be found wandering through the halls humming “Satisfaction." “Panter - Dotes* Anger is only one letter short of Danger.
