Delegate Tom Frost of Warrenton contemplates the tremendous state budget requests for the '66-’68 biennium which are stacked on his desk. The Governor's 10-man budget committee met last week in Richmond. The greatest increases requested were from the Department of Education with requests amounting to $120 million more than the previous biennium. Other requests were from the Department of State Police which asked for 200 additional officers though they actually needed about 700 more. The Hospital Division, Welfare Department, Labor and Industry, Conservation and Development, Planning and Development all had spokesmen on hand: The requests will undergo further scrutiny by the Budget Office and Governor before being presented |to the January session of the General Assembly.
