JbCIA Bull Feeding Test for 1965-66 have been announced. Included in the list are eighteen Angus breeders with 49 bulls with an adjusted average daily gain of 2.17 pounds, an average type score of 13, an average index of 134 and average starting weight as of 104-65 of 664 pounds. Breeders from this area having Angus bulls consigned include: Green Valley Farm and Zeuswyn Farm bothofCuF peper and The Oaks of Sperryville.
This Rappahannock herd, owned by the C. E. Johnsons, will be represented by five j young bulls which averaged: Adj. A.D.G. - 2.08 lbs, Type 13, Index - 130; Starting weight - 555 lbs. The 18 Hereford breeders have entered 30 bulls averaging 2.22 Adj. A.D.G.: 13.5 1 type score, 138 index, and 694 lbs. starting weight. For the First Time there will be 5 Charolais bulls entered by two breeders. These animals have the following calf hood records: 2.55 Adj. A.D.G. Type 12.2, Indexes - 145 and a starting weight of 675 lbs. A like number of Shorthorn consignors have three bulls representing this breed with records of : 2.21 Adj. A.D.G., 13.2 type, 136 Index, and 672 lbs. Those meeting requirements of the Feed Test will be sold at auction on March 11th.
