Two boys of Shenrapawa District Boy Scouts received Eagle Scout awards at the Fall Court of Honor held at Rappahannock County High School last Wednesday night. November 17. Receiving the Eagle awards were Wade Wallihan Massie of Troop #64, Washington and Kenneth Simpson, Jr. of Troop #7, Luray. The Scouts were recognized by their respective Scoutmasters, T. C. Lea, Jr. and Edwin Smith. They then received pins, Wade from his father and Kenneth from his mother, and in turn the boys gave miniature pins to their parents. The Court of Honor was opened with Assistant District Commissioner B. Gale Titchenell introducing Page Moffett of Troop 64 who welcomed the parents and boys. Page then called on boys of Troop 64 to give the pledge to the American Hag, the Oath and the Scout law. Adult volunteer leaders in scouting were introduced, Neighborhood Commissioner Virgil Beeler of Front Royalj and Neighborhood Commissioner John Cargill of Washington.
Awards were presented to the scouts present,with Troop 65 of Sperryville receiving their badges from Jr. Assistant Scoutmaster Mike Titchenell. T. C. Lea presented the awards to the members of Troop 64 of Washington. Front Royal Troop 52 members received their awards from Scoutmaster KenBovard and Troop 7 of Luray was recognized for their awards by Scoutmaster Edwin Smith and Assistant Scoutmaster Leon Waters.
