As to that rock quarry near Flint Hill, my criticism appears to have stirred up a bit of a controversy. It may well l^e that most residents in the ar,ea 4bve* it dearly. Others have told me they also wish it had not been opened there. In any case, would it not have been far better to hear these opponents and proponents BEFORE the quarry was launched? That would have been a more democratic and orderly procedure—and that’s the story of zoning. Had there' been little or no opposition at a zoning hearing, that would have ended the matter. Finally, as to “Trucker* and i his “rock-in-the-eye“ sally, it is remarkable that a man! like that with such strong1 convictions was reluctant to identify himself. Also, he was so literate!
