Postmasters are urging that people mail early and use zip codes. The tuberculosis associations throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia are honoring the postal employees and are not only urging that citizens mail early and use zip codes but that they also use Christmas seals. Richard Harkness, chairman for the Tuberculosis and Health Association of Northern Virginia said “Your Christmas Seals demonstrate that you have united with your neighbors and friends against tuberculosis and respiratory diseases which strikeso secretly, suddenly and so cruelly. Alone, no man, no family can protect itself. But united through Christmas seals we can protect each other and ourselves.” Chairman Harkness noted that when contributions are mailed early, this makes less work for the already overburdened mail carrier because he will not have to carry a reminder to that many less citizens, a reminder to answer the Christmas seal letter.
