Dedication May 22

Madison County may look forward to a gala day on Sunday, May 22, when Senator Harry F. Byrd, Jr., will be guest speaker and principal guest at two special functions: one, the dedication of the now completed White Oak Run Watershed, and the other, as the honored guest at a barbecue offered friends of Byrd later that afternoon at Graves Mountain Lodge in Syria. The Watershed Dedication will take place at the top of the dam at 2 p.m. Details of the program sponsored by the Town of Madison and The Culpeper Soil Conservation District will be published as soon as specific plans have been completed; however. Senator Byrd will address the public as guest speaker. 'The barbecue, which will begin at 4 p.m. is free to the public and is presented in honor of Senator Byrd and financed by his supporters from the following counties and city; Culpeper, Albemarle, Orange, Greene, Rappahannock, Madison and the City of Charlottesville.
