Warren Beebe, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Beebe of Castleton has been awarded a scholarship to the 1966 Boys Forestry Camp at Holiday Lake June 27 - July 1. C. G. Thornhill III has entered the 1966 4-H Litter Weight Contest. The adjusted 56 day litter weight of his entry was 513.84 pounds. Winners in the! contest sponsored by Virginia Purebred Swine Breeders are awarded $50, $30 and $20 purchase certificates at purebred swine sales. j C. G.’s litter consisted of eleven purebred Yorkshires and originated as a result of the Sears Sow chain conducted in Rappahannock County. He and younger brother, David, each plan to feed four pigs each from this litter to enter in the Orange Area Market Hog Show and Sale to be held August 30. 4-H Tour plans are in process. The committee consistinf of Amy Palmer, Betty Jenkins and Susan Dodson again selected the Washington,! D. C. area, points of interest! chosen to be visited include* The Zoo, The Jefferson Memorial, Bureau of Engraving and National Cathedral. The tour date has tentatively been set for June 14. A program of instruction including slides and other visual aides on 'Building a 4-H Record" is to be offered Senior 4-H members beginning at 7:30 p.m., Friday, May 13 at the Court House. An afternoon workshop will
perience . in assembling and writing their records of Achievement. This will be followed by a cook-out, tapping and initiation in the Rappahannock 4-H Honor Club.
