Sustains Gun Wounds
! . A Chester Gap woman is in critical condition in Winchester Memorial Hospital with gunshot wounds sustained early Sunday morning at her home. She was identified as Mrs. Annie Virginia Walter^ 36 years old. According to Trooper W.A. Buntin, a warrant has been issued for the assailant, but the person charged has not been apprehended, and the name was withheld. The officer' said the bullet fired from a 30.06 rifle, hit a wooden door in the Walters home before striking the victim in the stomach. She was taken to Warren Memo rial Hospital by Front Royal Rescue Squad and after surgery was transferred to Winchester.
Charles K. Estes, Sheriff of Rappahannock and Warren County Sheriff Gary Keyser assisted in the investigation.
