It was a hot 4th of July but in spite of the weather people came to enjoy the activities planned for that day including the exhibit of arts and crafts of Indonesia at the Rappahannock Library. Added to this was an interesting collection of Korean and Japanese objects of art owned and loaned ; by Mr. and Mrs. George H. i Davis, Jr. Many took advantage of the plate supper served at the monument for the benefit of the library. The willing helpers in these projects deserve much gratitude. . The evening ended with a brilliant display of fireworks on the lawn of Avon Hall, home of Mr. and Mrs. William M. Carrigan. This has been an annual event of recent years and has given pleasure to many county residents and guests.
