Ham and Chicken Supper at Amissville
An old Virginia Ham and chicken supper will be served Saturday, May 6 at the social hall of Amissville Methodist Church beginning at 5 p.m. In addition to the ham and chicken, the menu will include parsley potatoes, green beans, corn pudding, cole slaw, beverage, homemade hot biscuits and homemade pie. The supper is $2.00 for adults and
$1.00 for children-, and proceeds will go toward the church kitchen fund. The public is invited.
Wild Turkey Shot
Paul Herrmann of Arlington bagged a twenty pound tom turkey Saturday, the first day of the gobbler hunting season which remains open through May 13, The bird was checked at Bardford’s Store, Flint Hill According to Game Warden Irvin Kenyon, the turkey was shot near Huntly.
