Senior Play Set for
Friday, May 12
The senior class of Rappahannock County High School will present their annual spring drama at the high school on Friday, May 12. The play, “The Greatest Man Alive” by Tony Webster, will begin at 8 p. m. The play is a three act comedy, and the fun arises from the frustrating efforts of an old man to hang himsell in order to become famous. Amos Benedict is the old man who is striving to gain more than one line in the obituary column. All sorts of amusing situations develop as his friend tries to help him achieve fame and others try to prevent his suicide.
I-;arl Yancy portrays the role of Amos Benedict and Albert Vayne is his friend Tom who is willing to help him hang himself. Bonnie North, as Peggy, wants to prevent the suicide and her pompous fiance is played by Patrick Foster. Kenhy Payne is a young law student named Steve, Others in the cast are Shelia Dodson, Robert .Jenkins, .James Jenkins, Gloria Myer^ Downing Hitt and Nancy Buntin. Other seniors are contributing time and talent in many ways. In the makeup department are Nancy Buntin, Georgine Gray and Alletta Beebe. The seinor boys with the help of instructors F. S. Boze and Ronald Updike in the shop are making stage settings. The play is under the direction of Mrs. Myra Wolf and Mrs. Louise Marshall.
