There will be a special meet ing of the Washington Volunteer Fire Company Monday, August 21 at 8 p. m. Edward M. Clark, fire chief, urges all active members and interested persons to attend.
Water-Sewage Needs

A group of about fifty people who were interested in water and sewage disposal needs of Rappahannock County, met Monday evening at Sperryville Elementary School to hear Soil Conservation Service representatives and consulting engineers speak on the sub, ject. Graham Munkittrick with the Soil Conservation showed maps on which were located prospective dam sites for water impoundment in the regions above Sperryville. A dam of this type would be initially for flood control, but through development by the county, could also be used for recreational purposes, pollution control and water supply. There were a number of suitable locations pointed out with respect to multiple purpose dams. Also present for the meeting were Mr. Martin and Mr. Lucas, of the firm, Martin, Clifford and Associates, engineers and consultants of Stafford. These engineers have already begun a study of the entire county in order to develop a comprehensive plan for Water and Sewage. This is done through a $4500 grant from F.H.A. This plan will serve as an official guide for future development '
