The officer said the operator was apparently traveling too fast for the dirt road when he skidded on a hillcrest and curve and jacknifed, plung< ing through the fence. Ambrose sustained abrasions of the right arm, lacera. tions of the forehead and leg and a whiplash. His daughter, Evelyn Ambrose, 4 a passenger in the vehicle, sustained bruises and abrasions of her head. Dennis Duane Dent of Stafford, riding in the truck, had abrasions of the right arm and both legs.
A two-vehicle collision occurred Tuesday morning at the intersection of Gay Street and Route 211 in the Town of Washington. Involved in the crash was Mrs. Virginia Settle Estes of Washington, operating a 1965 Plymouth, and Gilbert Edward Atkins of Front Royal in a 66-67 Oldsmobile.
According to Trooper W. A. Buntin, Mrs. Estes, coming onto the highway from Gay Street struck the side of the Atkins vehicle which was traveling west on Route 211. Mrs. Lillian Frazier, a passenger in the Estes car, received a laceration of the leg. Damage was estimated at $400 to the Atkins car and $250 to the Estes vehicle.
