Funds Approved for Mental Health Facilities
During the first six months of this year, $9,796, 770.36 in Federal funds was approved to help finance the construction of hospital, mental retardation, and mental health facilities in Virginia, Dr. Emil E. Palmauist, Regional Health Director of the Department of Health, Education, and Welfare announced today. Dr. Palmauist said Federal assistance is provided communities to encourage a wider distribution of health facilities and to improve standards of care available thrughout the Nation. Since 1948, when the programs first started, Virginia health facilities have received a total of $91,680,093.00 in Federal construction funds. In this area is Fauquier Hospital, Warrenton with $326,441 in federal funds allot ted. Total estimated cost of the facility is $604,030.
